Where Have you BEEEEeeen?!?!?!?!

Hi Loves!

Wow! It's the END of 2014 and I have soooo much to share! I don't even know where to begin.
Well Everything that I have to share is all on the same level of excitement for me so I'll just spill it.

This past summer I fulfilled one of my dreams and continued my acting career in a local Philadelphia Play. The play was written and directed by Susan Small-Harris and she is the master mind behind S.Charli Production Company. visit her website for more info scharliproductions.com. I heard about it from my work twin Nyoka.

She was actually a character in one of Susans previous play titled  'Blue'. A few of us from work supported Nyoka by going to see her in this production. It was a great time! In a conversation following the play, I had congratulated Nyoka and mentioned that I would love to resume my acting career. She took note and when Susan announce auditions for her next production, Nyoka sent the information right to me.

I gathered all my info, created my actors resume chose a 'head shot' chose a monologue and requested an audition. I nailed it... except the singing part. lol. For those who know me, this may sound weird but its true, I get SUPER nervous for presentations in school and apparently when required to sing for an audition. I chose to sing my favorite, Ready for love by India Arie....That's totally my go to song! I used to sing it at different poetry events in college, etc.....but this audition??..... was a different story.
I always start a tad bit too high or too low...I think in this case, I started to low and when I had to go low, it was so shaky that there was 'barely' any confidence. lol..Its ok, I laughed at myself, you can laugh too.

Take the weirdness of an audition out give me a mic and I am beyonce or whitney hunty! lol. No but seriously, All my friends and family look forward to me singing happy Birthday to them, so I can do a little more than hold a note, just don't make me nervous and stare at me  with a straight face...it just doesn't work for me!

Anywho! I got one of the lead roles in Club 44 as 'Hagar' (from the biblical story about Abraham, Sarah and Hagar with a spin on it) Rehearsal began in April and it was an awesome experience! I love my Club 44 family and would trade ANY.....lol I mean Anyone of them or else it would have been something different! I learned so much from each of my cast mates!

One of the best parts??? The play was in a BEAUTIFUL theater in downtown Philadelphia(Philly). The theater was most recently named the Suzanne Roberts Theater. It was built within the past 5 years, and had glass doors and windows. There were large posters with my face on it posted up on BROAD STREET (Philadelphia's Broadway!!) for all who walked by to see! That felt AMAZING! The flyers (seen below) had my face on it and so did the tickets! I was in a dream and didn't want to wake up! It went well! and we'll be doing the production again in the future. I am hoping to continue to grow in my acting career! Stay tuned for more of this face!

Thanks so much for reading loves! until my next story! Stay Blessed!
